What changes from town to town
A Victorian terrace in Wolverton often brings party wall considerations and a lintel arrangement suited to a solid nine inch wall. A nineties house on the grid usually brings neither, but frequently cannot take a digger down the side. In Olney, lime mortar and an early conversation with the conservation team tend to matter more than either.

A note on distance
