Why we started
CB Builders & Son was established in 2025, backed by more than a decade of hands-on experience within the building trade. Charlie had spent those years on site learning the trade properly, and set the company up around the standards he believed customers should be able to expect as a matter of course.
We believe a good building experience starts with clear communication, realistic expectations and a professional approach from the outset. We take the time to understand each project properly, explain what is involved and keep our clients informed throughout. Our focus is always on quality workmanship, reliable project management and delivering work we are proud to put our name to.
We deliberately limit the number of projects we take on at any one time, allowing us to maintain high standards, close attention to detail and a personal service throughout. Charlie prices and runs every project himself, supported by our core team and trusted trades.
Communication
Allison runs the office. On a building project the difference between a good experience and a bad one is rarely the brickwork. It is whether someone tells you the windows are delayed, whether the skip arrives, and whether your message gets answered.
We use WhatsApp as our primary communication platform, providing a clear written record and allowing information, photographs and updates to be shared efficiently between our clients, office and site team. You can send a photograph of the wall you are asking about, we can send back a photograph of what we found, and drawings and plans stay in the same thread.
How we run a site
Because we limit how many projects run at once, nobody is left waiting on us. We would rather be completely honest about when we can start than overbook the diary, begin too early and disappear midway through a project.
Sites get sheeted up, tools put away and floors swept at the end of each day, and neighbours are told what is happening before it happens. None of that is remarkable. It is simply what should happen.
What we will not do
Small repairs, handyman work and single day jobs. We are set up for substantial building and renovation projects, and focusing on those is how we keep the standard consistent. For smaller repairs or handyman-type work, we would recommend using a tradesperson who specialises in that type of service, as our team is structured around larger building and renovation projects.
We know choosing a builder is a big decision, which is why we aim to make the process as clear and straightforward as possible. From the initial enquiry through to completion, we focus on transparency, communication and consistent standards at every stage.
