Accessibility
What we have done, and what to do if something does not work for you.
What we aimed for
This site was built to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. In practice that means every page works with a keyboard alone, text and controls meet contrast requirements, the site can be zoomed to 200 percent without anything breaking, images carry real descriptions, and animation is switched off automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
Specific things we did
- Every interactive element has a visible focus outline, and there is a skip link at the top of each page.
- Touch targets are at least 44 by 44 pixels with space between them.
- Body text starts at 17 pixels and scales with your browser settings.
- Nothing on the site moves on its own, autoplays or flashes.
- The menu can be opened and closed with a keyboard, and closes with Escape.
- Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
Known limitations
Some of our older project photographs were taken on a phone in poor light and are lower resolution than we would like. They are described properly in the alternative text, but the images themselves are not perfect.
If something does not work
Tell us and we will fix it. Email cbbuildersandson@gmail.com or message 07930 390542 on WhatsApp, saying which page and what happened. Because enquiries are handled directly by our office team, it will reach the right person quickly.
We do not use an accessibility overlay widget, because they tend to make things worse for the people who actually rely on assistive technology.
